Started 1954, and every year of it written down
A broom-form trident with the finest winter ramification in the nursery. It arrived with a ledger — a school exercise book in which its first keeper recorded every repot, feed and prune from 1954 until he died in 2009.

No tree leaves here on the strength of a photograph. Come and walk round it first — we will hold anything for a fortnight while you decide. Delivery is by hand, in our own van, anywhere in the British Isles.
Every tree goes with a year of aftercare: repotting when it wants it, winter cover, and a standing invitation to bring it back if it sulks. Most people use it. Nobody has ever been charged for it.
Grown from a cutting taken in Osaka in the early fifties, imported to Kent in 1954 by Gerald Voss, and kept by him for fifty-five years without a single season missed. The ledger comes with it. We have added to it since 2011 in the same hand-ruled columns, which is not sentiment so much as the only honest way to sell a tree this old.
